Morning Economic Report 9-29-25

Economy update

The US government will run out of funding tomorrow unless a last-minute deal is struck between the Republicans and the Democrats. The opposition is demanding the reversal of Medicaid cuts, extending subsidies for the Affordable Care Act and restoring funding to public media. Eurozone economic sentiment improved in September, although the outlook for the service sector deteriorated. Gold has broken above the $3,800/ounce barrier. The dollar is weaker, but global stocks are holding up reasonably well.
