Morning Economic Report 8-11-25

Friday’s meeting of Trump and Putin, without possible Ukrainian representation, aims to end the war with a dubious outcome. The Chinese tariff deadline expires tomorrow and is expected to be extended. Chinese producer prices retreated more than forecast in July, confirming stubborn deflation. Consumer prices were unchanged on the year. Tomorrow will see the release of the US CPI, core reading expected to be 3%. Equities are stable this morning and gold is on the retreat.
